The Jeep Compass e-Hybrid new technology is based on the combined work of two engines: a petrol-powered 1.5-litre T4 Turbo powertrain that delivers 130bhp through the front axle, and an electric motor integrated in the new seven-speed DCT dual-clutch transmission that provides 48V to boost performance up to 15kWh at various stages of the driving.
When travelling at low speeds, the e-Hybrid system can provide a pure electric driving experience by allowing you to travel in full electric mode with the internal combustion engine fully turned off. The e-coasting mechanism and regenerative braking can both recharge the battery.
The e-Coasting system is designed to recharge the battery during each journey. Whereas the battery is also charged through regenerative braking. The most important feature of the new Jeep Compass e-hybrid technology is the e-Boosting. This allows the electric engine to boost in power. The electric motor's output allows the internal combustion engine's to be optimised, increasing its efficiency.
Further features include, a 360-degree camera which projects perimeter images onto the infotainment system display and a new hands free power liftgate. Along with ample safety features like E-Creeping, E-Launch, E-Queuing and E-Parking which complete the new Jeep Compass MHEV unique driving experience.
